BH4BP #17 – To Supplement or Not to Supplement, That is the Question!

Have you ever wondered whether you should take a dietary supplement and whether it is as effective as eating the food itself? This show is dedicated to discussing the issue of whether a pill a day can turn a poor diet into a healthy one. I talk about eight types of dietary supplements:  Multivitamins, meal replacements, calcium, B vitamins, vitamin C, glucosamine and chondroitin, vitamin D and fish oil.

Some references used in the research of this show were WebMD, Santa Barbara Diabetes Research Center, Medicine College of Wisconsin, Medicinenet and Wikipedia.

I end the show with a question from Lauren regarding sweet tooth cravings and how to combat them. I reference US News to aid me in answering this question.

    Great points! Food is the key –>supplements might help, but they don’t replace a healthy diet <— Great show!

  2. Good info. I brought a list of 15 supplements I was taking to the Derm and she said that was too much, but I read that many of them were good for stress and also eczema. Now I am taking a multi and a few other ones like Evening Primrose Oil, Flaxseed oil, B super and D-3

    I will go vote now
