Great show but I still think I'll stick to mostly veggies. With only occasional forays into the world of red meats.

Dear Talli:
I enjoyed your show as usual. We always buy meat that it is lean. The only one that is more expensive is the very lean ground beef but it tastes So Much better! Thanks

I think beef is fine-- the problem is more the hormones and antibiotics added to supermarket beef. If you get antibiotic-free and hormone-free neat, it will be healthy. I buy local beef and usually split a steer every year with neighbors, since I have a big freezer.

I was a vegetarian for nearly 25 years and decided to eat meat again because we are designed to be omnivores.

Shawno, yes it is surprising how much difference it makes to go with lean ground beef.

I cooked a skillet dish (think it was tacos) recently with some lean ground beef (like 93/7, I think) and it was pretty good. I was surprised when I went to drain the fat and there wasn't hardly any at all.
