BH4BP #28 – Food Tips For Frequent Restaurant Diners

A lot of people either don’t like to or feel they don’t have the time to cook or wash dishes.  After a busy day at work followed by taking the kids to all their activities, the thought of cooking on top of all that seems like too much.  Sometimes, we need a reprieve from our daily work and dining out is one way of getting that.  The problem is that if we resort to eating out too often, our health can suffer due to the predominantly unhealthy food that is available at many restaurants.  But, while eating out is almost always less healthy than preparing your own food, your healthy diet doesn’t have to go out the window when you go out to eat.  You can still eat healthy when dining out, if you make better choices.

So, in this show, I discuss ways to have healthy meals when eating out.  I go over breakfast, lunch and dinner and some general guidelines when dining out.

    Shawno’s comment is so funny and true of myself. Good article and you’re right. If you want to eat healthy and control every element, then do it yourself. 20yrs in restaurants and I’ve seen the funniest things like people who think decaf coffee is 100% caffeine free or that a diet pop with there huge greasy meal is better. then again, if they have to eat out all the time, I guess less is better. Doesn’t even matter, most people don’t go out for the food, it’s to have conversation with friends, business, meeting people, atmosphere, a ton of other complimentary reasons. And some of gluttons want just the food. I don’t like talking while eating… it’s bad and being Chinese I was trained to vacumn my food. Do you know that you are supposed to chew your food up to 100times before swallowing for optimal digestion? You are supposed to liquify your food first.
